Film Factory Fiji has the expertise and experience in Fiji to service any film or television project.
Film Factory Fiji:
- Provides the skill, expertise and experience of Paul Carran, previously a senior entertainment and commercial lawyer with a wealth of experience in business, film production, finance, and tax.
- Will contract the crews, cast, and vendors in Fiji, Australia and New Zealand.
- Has its own established contracts suitable for Fiji, Australia and New Zealand.
- Will organize the set up, pre-prep, production and wrap of a project. There is always a significant amount of work in closing down the production and Film Factory will remain available to do this.
- Handles the international issues such as visas, immigration, withholding taxes, tax department certificates and approvals for international cast, crew, executives and equipment.
- Handles the negotiations with local unions and trade associations.
- Has relationships with vendors and will provide beneficial terms of trade with key vendors, for example hotels, freight, transport, communications, film stock suppliers, processing and telecine.
- Provides in-house business affairs services for the duration of the project, vetting all local contracts and negotiating, redrafting and closing deals and terms of trade for the production. There are always disputes and claims that arise during the best managed productions and Film Factory works through the resolution of these disputes whether subject to insurance claims or not.
- Provides in-house entertainment industry services for all negotiations, contracting and satisfying of legal requirements in respect of copyright, clearances, insurances, completion bond, and title to the materials created in the production.
- Provides an interface and follow through with governmental departments including tax, customs, GST, and assisting in completing all aspects required to receive incentives, tax credits, labour rebates and all other benefits. Film Factory assists in preparing applications for incentives and resolving issues that will arise in the making of such claims.
